Prologue His eyes cold and calculating, he began his decent into the mass hysteria of battle. The numbers dwindled with every swipe of his body. Blank faces stared at him in shock before their eyes dulled. But that's all they were; blank faces. They had no meaning. No purpose. His purpose was to destroy and achieve the goal that was presented to him... ~~~~~~ "...land in, destroy all, and find what is Hidden. That is all you need to do. Is that clear?" His head nodded without command, already obeying the demand, whatever it may be. For he was without feeling, without care...and he sincerely didn't understand the idea of pain...~~~~~~ He stared curiously at the red liquid innocently dripping down his arm. The rhythmic flow of his slow and steady pulse engulfed his full attention; as though curious as to how this could happen. Never before had he seen this substance on himself. He had experienced the warmth of it as it caressed his face, but to feel it leaving his own body was almost an, ironically, out-of-body experience. His vision, though perfect in every angle and perception, began to fade. This was curious to him. Why would this red liquid affect his vision so fast? He gazed up slowly to peer over his arm at the ground, and soon realized how close it was. In all of his years, he had never experienced a peace such as this... ~~~~~~ It would be a lie to say he was rejoicing when he woke up. In fact, this confused him. He was taught to live, and to never die, no matter what. For this went against the Order, and this was the Order's law. He began to question himself; was he secretly going against the Order by wishing he weren't following through with his orders? His eyes opened slowly, gazing around the room that was unfamiliar to him. Light colors, ones that he had seen only in story books from years ago, adorned the bedroom walls. White linen curtains shielded his delicate eyes from the full impact of the morning light. His senses began to catch up with his consciousness, and he realized there was a person standing in the room. His green eyes flitted over to the figure. He observed that it was a female, with blue eyes and dusty brown hair that was straight and long. Her expression was that of curiosity, but he also detected a slight hint of caution in the deep orbs. After a moment's hesitation, the girl shifted noiselessly to the side of the bed, and laid a tray of food and water on the nightstand. She looked at him. He gazed back. Finally, the girl had the courage to say, "My name's Aylen...we found you severely hurt in the woods, not far off from where we're at." She backed up and sat in a chair that was a few feet away, "I...we, weren't sure where you came from..." she brushed her hair with caress, in a way to relieve the tension. Silence ensued in the room. His stony gaze never left her soft face. Her eyes wavered, flitting between the protective curtains to the stranger who captivated her almost instantaneously. Letting out a breath she didn't know she had been holding, she asked, "What's your name?" He answered with precise automatism, "Cáel." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TO DO LIST: Plot - .....there's a villain, maybe Aylen's sister that comes to visit often, and she begins to see the changes in Aylen and Cáel, such as them liking each other and stuff ;D... anyways, the plot is how she tries to tear them apart, all the while Cáel and Aylen are getting closer, and he's learning to do things again... OH AND AND, Ciará spies on Cáel who's been given private dancing lessons for the upcoming dance, and he turns out to be really good at it, so he surprises Aylen by his dancing skillz, and they go do the dance and it like YAY LURVE, untillllll...... ...Ciará's dude that she paid easily steals Aylen away from the dance, pretending to just be apart of the party; he takes her outside, and before she figures out what's going on, he gags her and steals her away; Cáel meanwhile is found dancing with Ciará, who is distracting him from noticing Aylen's disappearance; she says mean things to him, that discourage him about their relationship(C&A), but he then sees movement outside and hears screaming. Aylen is being held hostage by the dude, Cáel is telling him that he has something more valuable than her, the guy shows interest. Cáel takes a step forward, holding out a locket, the guy yells at him to stop and cuts Aylen's cheek. Cáel stops, yelling to him what the locket does, the man becomes more curious. They make a deal: he hands over Aylen for the locket. The guy shoves Aylen over to Cáel, who catches her before she falls all the way. The man looks at the locket greedily, and starts to monologue, but is suddenly gasping for air with an arrow through his back and chest. They look over at Ciará, who's holding a crossbow. She TBC

[shadow=black,left,300]First Christmas[/shadow] Cáel looked at the powder with a curious, scrunched up face. Some of it landed in his gloved hand, and he stared intently at it, watching it slowly melt. He looked at her, "And you call this...snow?" Aylen nodded, smiling. She took his hand, bending down to sit in the snow. He sat down with her, watching her with furrowed brows and curious eyes. She scooped up a large amount of snow, packed it up into a confined ball, and set it into his hand. He raised an eye ridge, looking at the ball and back to her. "That's called a 'snow ball.' People throw them at each other-- no, no! Just as a game!" she quickly corrected as he blinked with a panicked look on his face, "You throw them at your friends or whoever is playing, and whoever holds out the longest wins." Cáel blinked at the snowball, raising his hand closer to his face to examine it more thoroughly. "Does it...hurt?" he asked, looking at her. She shook her head. "Well, sometimes it does," she corrected. He gave her a look of concern, dropping the ball in the snow and standing up. Aylen stood up with him, grabbing onto his arm for support. Just then, she noticed the wind had picked up the pace, and the temperature had dropped. Snow fell harder, and in more quantities. She frowned; there was still so much more to show him! She gave a sigh, rolling her eyes in impatience. "Looks like we need to head inside," she stated dejectedly. Cáel nodded, leading the way into the house and away from the oncoming storm. ~~~~~~ Cáel dropped two dry logs into the fireplace, stepping back as it spat out burning ashes. He turned around, walking over to where Aylen sat on a chair. She was shivering, and was attempting to hug her tightly-gripped blanket closer to her body. He gazed at her, unsure of what to do. He himself was very cold, but he had learned to ignore the cold; to a certain point, at least. He sat next to her, leaning forward on his knees as he stared at the fire. Aylen glanced at him, "Aren't you cold?" she asked, just as a gust of wind howled against the rickety door. He started at the soundr, having gripped the arm of the chair tightly. She looked at his hand with concern, her eyes traveling up to his face. His breath came out in quick, white puffs of the crisp air. Aylen bit her lip, unsure of how to treat the situation. She hesitantly gripped his tense hand with her cold one. He blinked in shock, eyes trailing down to their hands, and back up to her face. Aylen felt her face begin to heat up from embarrassment, but she was determined. "Have I...have you ever heard of Christmas?" she asked tentatively. He looked at her with the same expression of confusion that seemed to adorn his face nowadays. "Christmas?" he questioned. Aylen nodded, "Ever heard of it?" He blinked, shaking his head. "Oh," she said, eyes downcast. Great...how am I going to explain this?

[shadow=black,left,300]Star Gazers[/shadow] "Where are we going?" Aylen grinned widely at him, "Hurry, we're going to miss it!" Cáel blinked at her, trying to keep up with her without being dragged. They hurried out of the hallways, their footfalls trumpeting loudly against the cold walls. Suddenly she stopped, letting go of his hand. She smiled widely at him, her blue eyes twinkling from the moon. She looked up, seeing the remnants of early fog drifting away. He followed her gaze, and his eyes widened. Stars, counted by the millions, were shining to their fullest potential, as if they were trying to outshine the moon itself. He had read about them before, and had seen pictures of their celestial patterns in the universe...but to see them up close...it was-- "Amazing, isn't it?" Cáel looked at her, her face glowing with happiness. He gave her a soft smile in return. Aylen beamed at him. Suddenly, the rain began. She gasped, nearly jumping in place, "There! See it?! There it is! Those are the comets!" she clasped her hands together, staring wide-eyed and child-like at the sky. Cáel looked at the sky in awe; there appeared two comets, one behind the other. They look like they're dancing, he thought to himself. They had extremely long tails, and they glowed shades of blue and purple, with glittering sparks of debris shining. He smiled, and looked down to Aylen-- Who wasn't there. He looked up ahead, seeing her racing off towards a large mound of green grass. "H-Hey, wait!" he called, running after her. He could hear her laughing heartily. When she reached the top of the hill, she raised her arms and spun around under the mystic-lit sky. He caught up to her just as she fell down in the grass on her back, laughing. When Cáel knelt beside her, he couldn't help but laugh at her antics. She laid there, panting, full of happiness as she gazed at the lit up skies. She gave a contented sigh, "I've been waiting for this my whole life! It's everything I imagined...and more," she said to herself softly. Aylen looked up at him, and smiled to him gently, patting the ground next to her. "It's a better view from here." He looked at her, then shifted to where he was soon laying on the ground next to her. His tense body relaxed automatically, and he let a breath out. Looking at the glittering stars heavily masked by the two large comets, Cáel let a small smile grace his lips, I've been waiting for this all my life, too.

Secrets Cáel paced the room, his brow adorned with sweat. His secret had almost gotten out today, and the worst of all Aylen was there to nearly see it. He paused, staring into the fire with wide eyes. If she ever found out... he couldn't finish his thought, the fear being too overwhelming to come up with an ending to. He began to pace more, rubbing a hand over his face, through his hair, and eyes with anxiety. He knew keeping his secret, especially a secret this big, from her would come to haunt him later, but how could he tell her? It would break her heart to know that the man she has come to know and love is a fake...a murderer. Would it really be better to tell her? He shook his head, glaring out the window at the moon shining. It seemed to shine it's innocent light on his face, mocking him. He gave a growl, turning away from the window, and walked over to the couch. Cáel sat down with a grunt, still sore from the fight earlier today. He stared at the fire, the dancing flames tiring his eyes.
