Gold
Class: Star
Gear: All
The original Dragon, it is from Gold Draconium that all other colors spring. Because of this, Gold Draconium Dragons are the the most versatile, able to easily manipulate all frequencies of mag energy. Gold Dragons are also easily the strongest Dragons because they can mag any other color of Draconium. All Humans and all Dragons have trace ammounts of Gold in their bones, but only a very miniscule number have enough to even be aware of it. Because Gold is the purest form of Draconium, it is much more easily transfered and manipulated by humans, which is why it is taught in the Academy.
Due to the Gold Dragons' near extinction and their power, only admins and anyone who has acquired the rank of Elite Class Racer can have a Gold Dragon as a character.
Black
Class: Psi
Gear: Red, Green, Gray, Purple, Orange, and Light Blue
Arguably the smartest Dragons, Black Psi-Class Dragons are all about mental prowress. They are by far the most willful, having a mind of their own with intellegence to match. Their riders have to prove themselves worthy, and upon doing so they gain a powerful friend. Psi is not beyond a Black Dragon, and the most powerful and closest pairs can form mental bonds in which they can feel the intentions of each other. Black is one of the five colors of balance.
Red
Class: Magma
Gear: Green, Light Green, Gray, Light Blue, Turquoise, and White
Red Dragons are the Dragons of Fire. They are passionate, intense, and fiery, and anyone without experience on a Dragon can find them quite a handful. Harsh, tempermental, and often stubborn, they will not submit to just anyone, but when they finally have found the right Rider they form bonds of loyalty that surpass any other. Red Dragons are unmatched in speed and dominate in sprinting races. However, they have little endurance and are not the strongest Dragon around. But really, who needs strength when you can leave your opponents eating your dust? Red is one of the five colors of balance.
Green
Class: Bull
Gear: Black, Red, and Brown
Easily the strongest of all Dragons, Greens are the muscle-heads of Dragon City. Not exactly the brightest, Greens are slow and heafty but very good at what they do in regards to destruction. Anyone that expects to ride a Green needs to be poweful, as strength is all a Bull-Class really understands. On the track, a Green's assets are not in its speed but in its ability to pummel its opponents into submission. Greens are not the best team Dragons and don't mag most gear very well, but frankly, it's not like they need the help. Green is one of the five colors of balance.
Blue
Class: Energy
Gear: Purple, Brown, Light Green, Gray, and White
Blue Dragons are some of the most respected Dragons of all of Dragon City. An Energy-Class Dragon is all about precision, control, and dicipline. Whether they have a rider or not, a Blue is always focused on further training. Blue Dragons are great for new riders because their disiplined nature helps them to teach. Older riders appreciate the skill a Blue Dragon posesses, with their greatest asset being their agility. Blue is one of the five colors of balance.
Purple
Class: Pack
Gear: Black, Red, Green, Light Green, Light Blue, Gray, and Turquoise
As their class would imply, Purple Dragons work best in a group setting. If singled out, a Purple would become fairly meek and defenseless. Even wildly in a pack, Purples are not intimidating, as they are not independent thinkers and require a strong-minded human to lead them. Once this happens, however, Purples are some of the most dangerous Dragons. Should you encounter a group of Purples on the race track, it is best to either avoid them or try to single them out and take them down one by one.
Brown
Class: Earth
Gear: Green, Blue, and Light Green
Browns easily rival and even surpass Greens in their specialty of size and strength. Bred for digging and demolishing, they are very good at their jobs with more than enough brawn and pure power to do it. Unlike their Green cousins, Browns are quite intellegent and are always thinking and making decisions. When they come to these, it is very hard to budge them, as Browns like to think they are always right. As with Greens, on the track a Brown's asset is its ability to slow down and entrench its opponents to keep from them from even finishing the race.
Orange
Class: Control
Gear: Black, Red, Purple, Light Green, Light Blue, Gray, and Turquoise
Beware the Control-Class Dragon, for they are by far the most chaotic and dangerous of all Dragons. An Orange Dragon lives to cause panic and destruction, and secretly are plotting to start a new Dragon-Human War so that they can win and rule over humans. Control-Class Dragons do not form teams with their riders like other colors. Instead, the Dragon enslaves the human and uses them to assist in their chaotic ways. There are stories that some Orange Dragons have broken away from the common faction and are working with humans instead of above them, but as said, these are meerely stories.
Light Green
Class: Scavenger
Gear: Green, Blue, Brown, and Gray
The smallest and probably the most intellegent of all Dragons, Light Green Dragons are renown for their ability to find objects and make new things. Because of their tiny size and natural fear, Greens do not make the best racing Dragons, but work well in many calmer situations. They easily give into force or fear, and it's not hard for other Dragons to get a Light Green to do their bidding. Highly resourseful, they excell in almost all situations.
Light Blue
Class: Nautilus
Gear: Black, Red, Purple, Orange, Light Green, Gray, White, and Turquoise
Nautilus-Class Dragons are the wild cards of Dragonkind, able to fluidly adapt to any situation thrown at them. Originally bred to work on both land and water, it was there that they leanred to mesh with both the hard, rigid land, and the fluid, graceful water. When paired with a flexible, versitile rider, Light Blue Dragons are the most balanced Dragons, as skilled at attack as they are with defense.
Gray
Class: Balance
Gear: All
Gray Dragons are the second oldest Dragon color, younger only than Golds. Grays do not have a specific ability, they are neutral towards everything. They do not pick sides and do not judge, but instead deal to all sides. A Gray's balance is easily disturbed, so anyone that thinks they are strong enough to ride a Gray must be very careful. Because they are so easily influenced, Grays have gone into hiding and very few are seen in Dragon City. Only an admin or someone who has gained the rank of Academy Racer can have a Gray for a character.
White
Class: Sky
Gear: Red, Blue, Orange, Light Blue, and Gray
Give a Dragon ADHD, caffiene, sugar, and a love for adrenaline, and you have on your hands a White. All about the thrill, a Sky-Class Dragon is constantly on the look out for the next risk they can take. Anyone wanting to ride a White needs to be willing to try anything and have just as much energy. In races, Whites excell at the stunts and jumps. But in straight-away races, Whites often injure themselves when they try to shake things up.
Turquoise
Class: Sonic
Gear: Black, Green, Purple, and Gray
The last color of the original twelve to spring from Golds, though Turquoise are certainly not least, and don't even let them catch you thinking that. Sonic-Class Dragons are boisterous and prideful, and their riders have to prove themselves worthy of such a mount. Turquoise Dragons are some of the best at strategy and communication, and a group can easily turn dangerous.
Dark Blue
Class: Ultimatum
Gear: Black, Green, Blue, Light Green, White, Gray, Turquoise
Dark Blue Dragons are a very mysterious lot. They seemed to just appear out of thin air one day, and started turning up in races. After a few races their abilities were easily recognized, and everyone wanted one of these "perfect" dragons, which had been labeled as "as balanced as a Blue, as fast as a Red, and as stable as a Green." Other than their apparent perfection, one other thing is known about them: something has gone wrong. After a freak accident that left one Dark Blue dead, the rest started turning on their riders. Reports of missing racers has skyrocketed, and more often than not these reports are answered with a certificate of death. Some claim that their Dark Blues are not dangerous, but no one wants to trust them in case they accidentally get hurt in another rampage. As it stands, no one really knows anything about these Ultimatum-Class Dragons.
Due to their mental instability and the fact that almost all Dark Blues are going to be admin-controlled antagonists, only admins and Academy Racers can have a Dark Blue for a character.
